Wow nice 650 Is there anything big done to the engine, I read that there were some engine work done. I like those gauges, if you ever think about getting rid of them let me know. I need a set of gauges for my 650B and like the origninal.

Nice transformation and pretty quickly I might add. If you want to clean up your fork lowers the easy way check out this link. I did mine a few months back and if you use this method you will save yourself a lot of work.

How do you like the clubmans with the stock foot pegs? Is it comfortable and for how many miles?
I have been considering this mod for my bike but I am not sure about going to rearsets.

Well, I am 6'-2" and I like to sit far back on the seat and sitting far back doesn't allow me to get a good angle for the rearsets I mocked up. Here is a pic of my last kz that I actually made a fiberglass seat for so I sat lower.



This was actually very comfortable except with the clubmans, when I tilted them so the controls wouldn't hit the tank at full turn, they hurt my wrists after an hour or so, but when I tilted them to better suit my wrist comfort, the controls touched the tank at full turn so I had to be careful when turning but I could ride for hours.

My comfort level may be different from your comfort level though, I made my bike specifically to zip around town and not for extended highway riding.

I haven't ridden this kz with the clubmans and stock seat more than just around the neighborhood for about 15 min. at a time, and I sit higher than before, but so far so good.

Thanks for info and picture. Your last and current bike have a nice look to them.
Comfort level is a hard thing to gauge. I currently have superbike bars on the bike.
Last week I rode the bike 250 miles for a day cruise, otherwise, I just beat it around town and ride to work.
I should just take the plunge, it's only money...

Okay I actually re-painted the bike (again...) and I ditched the gauges, signals, and stock wire harness.

I spent the past week collecting all info and parts I need to re-wire the bike bare-bones so I don't need the handlebar switches. I am relocating the ignition to the side but I still want to have the killswitch and starter button up top so I can reach them quickly if anything ever goes awry while riding.

I was thinking to myself, why not put the switches INSIDE the headlight bucket and have the two switches protruding out from it through some drilled holes? It would hide the wiring and still allow for easy access. has anyone ever tried this? i haven't checked yet, but I think I can fit the switches in there behind the light. Insight? Suggestions?

Also, I am thinking of going back to flat black again, after 5 different colors it fits me best. Go figure.

Oh, and snakebyte, the gauges work but the speedo mount appears to be broken and the po just jb welded it back together and it's breaking again. I don't know if you can get or fab up a new mount but if you want the gauges or if anyone else does pm me. tach and speedo cable working also.

I ditched the gauges, cleaned up some, and here it is as it stands. The fuel filter was clogged and I replaced it but it seems another clog is happening in the carbs because they started peeing all over the engine so I'll need to tear those down soon.

I've got some parts on order and I'm tearing the bike down for a good cleaning so I'll have more pics along the way...

Got her naked tonight. got stuff coming in the mail, so I'll plunk the motor out and clean it up as well as sand and repaint body parts and seal gas tank.

Hey Davo (nice bike), since you seem to be kind of partial to flat black, I thought I'd give you another option. John Deere makes a spray paint called Blitz Black. Not quite flat, more of a satin black. People have been painting their hot rods with it. Looks good. Tuff stuff too.
