I hear ya Leon just give them what they want. The work you have done looks good to me, should look real good after powder coat.

finally got some pure un-interrupted shop time,to get dougs swingarm closer to finished.
it is amazing how many different things can distract/steal your time completely from you :pinch: .
i was able to get the tubing for the braces cut to length and four of them milled off at (depending on where you call 90)60/30 degrees.
which seemed to set the angle nicely.

i also used the mill and a hole saw to cope the tubing to fit where it intersected the brace.

i was wanting to get it all welded up  ,but everything i got done turned out well.
so i am satisfied, thanks for being patient doug :) .

i'll be back at it tonight and i will post the pics of the progress tomorrow.

Nice build Doug! I was wondering will you have to drill and tap the cases for the larger motor mount bolts? I know with the heavy duty motor mount kits this is needed.

Thanks. :woohoo: I didn't feel like shelling out the $120+ for the Odyssey PC680 battery that will just sit on a shelf and lose charge for a couple years.

I was thinking of going with a D&G Chassis upper motor mount. I believe it eliminates the lower bolts of the rear upper motor mount to provide extra clearance.

Most likely. I've been doing all my mock up using the stock mounts so far. I have a 12"x18" plate of 6061-T6511 aluminum for an outboard bearing support and HD engine plates but I haven't got there yet.

Very nice! I've been eyeballing one of those mini belt sanders for a while, might have to go pick one up.

i have the electric one from h-f,it is pretty good.hard to find the replacement belts tho,and it has the plastic/rubber wear guide deals that the belt runs on and they wear quickly,i am planning to find something harder to replace mine with.

i haven't looked at the air powered one that h-f sells but you might eyeball them both and make your best choice.

they are not a dyna-file,but they don't cost three bills either.

if you don't push them hard they are good, but i get impatient and have found where to back off and let the tool work.
