Starting on the paint. The weather here is in the 60s & 70s, and so far, it's nice and dry.
Here's my trunk lid before primer:

After Primer. I used DupliColor Sandable Primer from a rattlecan. I'm going to shoot the color with a HVLP gun, maybe next weekend if the weather holds. I've got lots of pieces to paint, but I'm going to practice on this trunk lid first.

I have a sandblast cabinet where I work. I came in a half hour early today and used it.
I tried some polishing, we have a small polishing wheel. But I need a bigger wheel, or maybe I'll try to polish the lowers by hand.

I found this aluminum polish call Mr. Buffer. It's made in Oklahoma, and the Voyager people swear by it.
So, I tried it on my fork lowers. The top tube was polised with a buffing wheel after sandblasting. The bottom tube was polised by hand using Mr. Buffer. It works like Mothers or Semichrome.... rub it on, the rag turns black, and buff it off with a clean cloth. The more you use it, the shiner it gets. I probably did 6 applications of Mr. Buffer, and it took maybe an hour. The finish isn't quite as good as the top fork, but if you don't have a buffing wheel, and you do have about an hour, you can get pretty good results.
Mr. Buffer isn't available in SoCal (at least I couldn't find it), so I had to order it from their web site (12.99 for a 12 oz bottle, plus S&H).

The weather in SoCal has turned pretty nice, so I'm starting the re-paint.
Lots of pieces to do, but here's a pic of the trunk and saddle bag lids painted black, before clear coat.
