That IS a pretty ride. I think I need some more miles under my belt before I try something that big.
One thing you might try to get things black again is some stuff I used called "Back to Black" by Maguiars I think. Bought it at Autozone.Make oxidized areas black again. Controls etc that maybe you dont want to paint.

Here's one of the exhaust pipes. Where it runs under the engine, it was covered with baked on oil. I had to sandblast to get down to the base metal.

After sandblasting, I painted the pipes with DupliColor High Temp paint. It's supposed to be made for exhaust manifolds.

May not have a Kz designation but its Kz derived from the '80 Kz1300B. My dad has both a 1300b and a 01 ZG1200 and he prefered the older one. I've ridden both and they are both really nice. Keep up on the pics and progress. Looks great.

I'm cleaning so I can inspect the parts. The gears and splines look good, and the gearbox turns nicely with no clunks, so I'm not going to tear down the gear box any further.
I'm using Simple Green and a stiff parts brush for all my degreasing. It disolves the grease/grime well, and it's biodegradable, so I can just wash out my pan in the driveway.
I really don't have room for a motorcyle lift, either. But I've got two bikes, and I can park one bike on the lift. So it doesnt take up any more room than the bike. The lift has a ramp, makes it easy to just drive the bike up onto the lift.
