New Member Intro

Hello from Bloomington, MN. I'm a retired Automation Engineer at 74 and still riding. After I sold my Goldwing in 2025 because my wife doesn't want to ride anymore, my main bike is a 2007 Honda VTX 1300R which is really fun to ride with Cobra pipes. Finally I can hear the bike and not just the wind at 70 mph. Ha! In 2022 after I purchased a 1982 KZ650 CSR with 8900 miles from my brother in law, I had planned to bring it to life the next year, but didn't get to it until March, 2025. It was in really nice shape but had carb leaks and not running well. To get it going: I cleaned, adjusted and synced the carbs; cleaned a horribly dirty chain, installed new tires; cleaned the brake master cylinder and purged, cleaned handlebar switches, replaced pet cock valve, removed exhaust to allow for cleaning and working on other things and installed new exhaust gaskets, new battery, fixed some odd/ends, and lastly performed normal maintenance such as plugs, oil, engine and air filters, etc. It runs and drives well.
