Hello from Ohio
21 Apr 2026 12:38 - 21 Apr 2026 16:19
Hi all. Picked up a 1975 KZ400 as a project. It has been just that. So far have replaced a bunch of parts. Found two matching 746E carbs and rebuilt those with OEM parts from Ebay. Cleaned out the tank, fixed the speedo and tach, etc, etc. So I have been lurking for a while and thought it was time to get an account and interact.

Hi Adam, there are several of us here in Ohio, and southeast Michigan as well. We are fortunate to have AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio in July each year to “enable” our hobby/addiction although the pickings are slim for the smaller KZs.

Welcome to spyshot, our latest outpatient to be infected with The Dreaded Z-Bug.
It often starts small, like with one KZ 400. It only takes one.
However...
Often, The Dreaded Z-Bike affliction progresses to multiple, Z-bikes, even larger ones, along with Z-Bike parts, manuals and arcane Z-Bike knowledge, at which time the sufferer usually becomes a KZR inpatient, searching among us fellow Z-Bug sufferers for advice & understanding unavailable among the common hordes of Standard Citizens.
You're among friends now. We understand.

That's what brought me to KZR: a '79 KZ400. It's all been downhill since then
The first actual Z in my life was (is) the '81 GPz550 I bought in 1992. Anyway, welcome to the forum, spyshot!
