Where to buy points system for kz440d

Hey folks, I'm new to this world of two wheeled vehicles. I recently picked up a 1980 kz440d for $200 with the goal of getting it running and driving as cheaply as possible. Currently, its missing pretty much the whole ignition system; points, coils, and whatever else I deciphered from the wiring diagram. I found a guy with a parts bike on facebook who might have a few bits and pieces im looking for, since i think the bike i got was also used as a parts bike since its missing random small things as well like the gas tank valve and the front brake lever. Do yall know of any good website to buy old parts, OR, (and this kind of stuff gets me excited) know where to start down the rabbit hole of other parts from other bikes that i can retrofit to make work? The goal is to have it running and driving as cheaply as possible, not looking nice. I’m all for Frankenstein-ing this thing if that’s the cheapest option

I use eBay for that kind of stuff. No need to buy a parts bike.

Have you tried Partzilla?  They sell OEM stuff.

Have a look through this  www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki-kz440d1-ltd-1980-...odel15471/partslist/ , find the bits you need then use the part numbers to do a search on ebay or wherever

Partzilla shows the parts still available, but OP sez cheap. Factory parts are not cheap initially, but in the long run are often cheaper that the other stuff.
