New Zephyr 750 owner
15 Aug 2025 10:05
I have wanted a Zephyr for years now, I finally found one in SWFL that wasn't chopped up to be a stupid cafe racer. I for sure overpaid, this thing was sitting in a garage for the last 25 years. These bikes are hard to come by in Florida, in the north east you can find them all day. I am currently acquiring parts for it, the previous owner "rebuilt" the carbs(bogs with throttle input) and fork seals(which still leak). Lots of small issues from ding dongs trying to "fix" things.

Welcome from the UK, nice looking bike. If the fork bushes weren't replaced with the seals that may be why they still leak ?

Re: New Zephyr 750 owner
15 Aug 2025 22:20I don't know about that, the bike itself has 9k miles. I did order new bushings with the fork seals. I've thrown the parts cannon at this bike, now I am waiting for things to get here from Japan.Welcome from the UK, nice looking bike. If the fork bushes weren't replaced with the seals that may be why they still leak ?
Welcome.
Post up some more pictures after you ger her unloaded.
I've already got in unloaded and in pieces. Someone strapped down the rear grab handle so tight they cracked the frame where they mount.
The stock air box is properly fucked, stripped and broken bolt inserts. A block of wood was keeping it tight against the carbs. As much as I would love to keep it original I have ordered a factory pro pod jet kit, I have had good experience with his GSXR 1100 kit. The axle adjusters are facing the wrong way and the rear brake caliper banjo bolt has beaten the swingarm up pretty good. Missing the center stand for some reason. The gas tank cap is mangled from someone trying to pry it open even though the bike had a key. I'm sure I will find more problems when I start disassembling it to replace worn out things.

I've got the bike back to being able to ride, just dialing in the jetting currently. Many hours spent rebuilding and replacing things.

Looking good!
Does anyone know if the Zephyr 1100 center stand will fit a Zephyr 750? If it does, I have one that you are welcome to, just cover shipping.

Re: New Zephyr 750 owner
29 Oct 2025 09:58 - 29 Oct 2025 09:59Thanks for the offer, I actually picked up one for a 750 off of eBay. The seller parted out an almost complete Zephyr 750 and I practically bought everything but the frame, he threw in a bunch of NOS parts too. The Delkevic exhaust system retained the center stand which I am really happy with. The current jetting is too rich even for the pod filters on it, I have a Factory Pro jet kit installed. I've never had a bike run so rich it would burn my eyes or turn my hand black with soot by holding it over the exhaust.Looking good!

I have a Zephyr 550 to work on this winter to keep me occupied. The previous owner powder coated and painted a lot of things but assembled the engine wrong(he said timing) so it only runs on two cylinders and smokes like a Subaru owners vape. It sounds absolutely horrible. It came with a nice Kerker exhaust system.(not pictured)

Re: New Zephyr 750 owner
Today 19:13
I figured out my jetting problem, I need reading glasses. It had #38 pilot jets that I was sure said 35 when I rebuilt the carb ha, ha.
Put 20 miles on it today, had to tighten up the new chain already.
