Just picked up a KZ750b. Have a simple question about the oil drain plug. When I changed the oil the plug did not have a gasket or seal, just metal to metal. Is this correct?

Sure seemed right, but without gasket it didn't leak. Hate to make a very expensive mistake.
Showing my age but had a 72 H2 (what a riot!}, first year Z1, second totally tricked drag Z1, but never changed oil in any of them. Just rode the heck out of them. Never needed a throttle, an on/off switch would work just fine. But never once had an issue, they were super reliable. I live in central Florida and even the H2 had no qualms heading off to Ft Lauderdale or the Keys for the weekend.
