Hey Guys! Needing to get some details on the jet sizing on my bike. Got a 1977 KZ400S but I’m finding SO many conflicting specs on what the stock sizing should be. To be honest, its kind of a non-issue anymore as I put 95s and 70s in it and it’s running great. Just would love to have the correct information for reference! Below are all the screen shots that I found. *NOTE: When I purchased the bike, it was used and trashed and had one 90 and one 92 in it. So I don’t even have a frame of reference.

Thanks!

Sounds like you have the machine running well. I am not sure I can provide you with any more accurate stock settings than you have found. I have also found some lists/tables regarding the stock carbs on the 400/440s  There should be an ID stamped on the carbs somewhere, which might provide you with more info.

Here is yet another table I have found, not sure if you have found it as of yet.

WOW! Thank you so much for your help. Yeah it looks like those say 90s on them. Do you have any info on what running a bit bigger jets (ie 95) in them would do? Seems to have a bit more top speed and responsiveness, but I also replaced both throttle cables, so I could just be imagining things.

ID on those carbs says: KEIHIN JAPAN V52A OF11 Does that mean anything at all?

Thanks again @gd4now
