Hi I am Damon,
I got this 1982 KZ550 Ltd c a couple of weeks ago. The guy I bought it from had just done a top end job. It had sat a little as he built it for his daughter who did not like riding. It ran strong. My other bike is a 1973 Honda cl 350 k5 scrambler. This is like a rocket comparatively. Upon further inspection the number 4 cylinder ws only getting to about 140 degrees. The others were 270 or higher. With the help of this site. I removed the big jet and floats of # 4 carb and cleaned and voila it's now about 280 to290- 2 and 3 are about 10 degrees cooler and now number one is about 210 degrees. I cleaned number 1 carb twice now and no change still less than other 3 . Is that a problem - maybe the float as I don't know how to set height upside down. Also this bike has cheap pods . The jets are 92 and 32 currently in it. I am not sure if they raised the needle or not. It runs strong low and high. I have been told to take it easy for the first 500 hundred miles. I currently have about 150 on it. Is it worth trying t find a stock airbox and seeing how that makes it run? I can find the he airbox but not the mount L  brackets and do I need the top part that is sold separately? Or do I try dynojets?  I probably should just ride it for a while as it seems like it runs strong but I am trying to really dial it in. I have been getting great info from this site. Any tips would be appreciated - Thanks Damon
