Thanks Leon, your kind words are always encouraging. Well, the seat cost a bit more than I would have liked, being the cheap SOB that I am. $239. I figure I couldn't buy the seat I want, and I don't want a seat I don't love, so money well spent. That's what I said when I pried my wallet open with a crowbar.

hehe,
i know the cash hurts a little right now :pinch: .
but,

in a few months after you have enjoyed the comfort of your custom seat for awhile  .

it will seem cheap.

i don't think you could have done any better for twice the cash :) .

thanks for the kind words as well.

I would like some opinions on what to do with the exhaust. It's a Russ Collins exhaust, I'm entralled with what he did back in the day, so I want to keep it. I've cleaned it up and it's worth saving, no big dings or rust. The bike is going to be red with white stripes about where the masking tape is and filled in between with flat black. At least that's my plan today. So, paint the exhaust flat black or flat aluminum with VHT flame proof paint, powder coat in one of those colors or Jet Hot coat (not sure that's an option locally), or ceramic? Probably the ceramic coating would be the longest lasting? Mostly I'm interested in color opinions.

Obviously ceramic coat powder coat or jet hot or whatever it is is probabbly the best for
quality but the plasticoat brand ceramicoat is far superior IMO than the VHT
I have used both on complete pipes and the Ceramicoat has held up way better than VHT
using the oven to cure and the bike

I am partial to black. dull silver or aluminum isn't natural for an exhaust IMO
CHrome or Black is how most are sold it's not because companies are lazy or dont have access
to powder or ceramic coat variences its just chrome or black seems natural

Matt black (ceramic) would be my choice....silver/aluminium would not look so good right in front of the gold forks

Yeah, I think flat black might do the trick. Thanks for the advice guys.

Forgot to post pics of the carbs cleaned up.

Can you tell which one got the Easter egg treatment? It's not obvious when view from the side and it's as shiny as it's going to get. I've seen some carbs on other bikes that look super brite. Not sure how people do that, or have the patience to do it.
