Just had the good luck to pick up a 1984 GPZ1100 head for this thing with a set of .140 lift cams. "Now we're cooking with gas". With the 33 Micks and the 1170 kit (10.1:1 when matched with this head) You loose .4 points of compression due to the larger chambers. Also just put the last two cotes of clear on the tank. Can't wate for this weekend, to put this thing together. (minus the engine work ofcourse):silly: Wife's out of town visiting her folks starting Thursday, I was a baaaaad boy and said I had to work this weekend:whistle: I was'nt fibbing, I just did not say working on what:evil:

Actually there is; I worked on the bike all day today. Just hav'nt had time yo take pictures. I hoever will take pictures tomorrow morning and post them. I mounted the tank and disassembled my spair 84 head, so i can start building it. Tomorrow I would like to permenantly mount the fairing and seat. I will also pull the "Dyna" coils off of my 77 1000 and put them on this bike. I got a bit distracted today when my 84 head came in and I had to start pulling it appart immediately. My valve springs and Tytanium retainers came about three days ago, so I should be able to put the head together ass soon as I get the valves ground and seats cut. I was shocked at the size of the valves on this head. They are monsterous in comparrison to the valves i am used to on the orryginal KZ motors. No wonder the 84 GPZ1100 had 120BHP. I will post an update tomorrow morning.

I didn't have time to take pictures yesterday, but I did finish all of the electrical in the front. Mounted the new turn signals with running lights, and wired in the new master brake cylinder. I also installed the Andrews coils I had sitting around and installed some colder plugs B9s and oppened the gap to .050. I started working on the new head I picked up by taking it completely appart and cleaning all of the components. I am just amaized at the size of the intake valves in this 84 head. The valves are about 2mm larger than the largest valves you could possibly stuff into a older head. I plan on installing all the engine components together onto the engine this winter, but I plan on building the head now since I have all the parts. I fit the new gas tank to the frame with no unforscene problemes. This weekend I plan on mounting the fairing and the seat. Wit best fortune I might be riding the bike next week. I hope to post some pictures soon.

I had some time today to take pictures of the ongoing work. So here goes
The front wireing was finished with waterproog 3.8mm bullet connectors. The blue tape you see is just marking tape.
