Ok, here are I believe a little bit better pics of my seat taken in the daylight.

The line that runs across the center portion of the seat in the pic below is from the hemmed edge of a heavy duty shop towel that I placed in between the foam and vinyl.
It serves to help hold the square piece of foam that the PO had butchered out of there, plus it adds a little padding and helps the durability of the foam itself.

Sorry for my high-jack of this thread as well.

Doesnt bother me any, I have a viper fairing on my bike that I just put on over the winter, but I wasnt sure if its going to vibrate or not. I wasnt sure if I got it on right, but I guess it went a lot like your description (minus the rubber bits) so I guess it will be ok.

Looks good.

To the guy who wants to cut the Ninja seat, also make sure you look at the pan itself. On mine I got a little to close to the pan on the back edge of the seat

a good source for foam that is more dense than the stock foam is a camping sleeping pad. they are cheap, get my at the local mega box store (aka walmart) for a couple of bucks. makes great seat padding, and sometimes the better stuff is water proof so it wont hold the water, so no soggy seat if it gets caught out in the rain. i am getting a seat tomorrow and will be doing the same thing though i want to shape it more. we'll see how i do.

That reminds me, Im pretty sure thats what the blue foam is/was:silly: it was in a few peices, laying in a corner, so it was "fair game" to be destroyed and made into a seat:laugh:
Be sure to get us pics too
