TOPIC:

I took a soda can and cut out a small piece of aluminum. I then took a pocket knife and put a very small hole in the center of it and cut a 'X" over it (hole in center of x). Then I out it over the post and it holds the emblem very well!

get a couple pressed out nuts (like press on ones which you removed) from the hardware, they have those thin one use ones which will come back off when or if you ever want to remove them again just by turning it backwards.

Got some good advise, but one thing I would do if I was you ( if you havnt already ) Put your side covers on, lift the seat and look down where the tabs come through ,mark with a nail, drill a whole and us cotter pins to hold them on, I lost one once, but got very luck and found it, also 3 years ago some ASS stoll both of mine write off my back porch in broad daylight, right after I got it painted. they cant now unless they brack them.

Not sure if they're actually available, but I was doing a part check a while back and found that Ron Ayers had actual Kawasaki side cover emblems for the 650s priced for less than some reproductions I've seen.
