Hey guys, I wanted to pick you brains about a cool wheelset I saw today. My friend picked up a 75Z1 project in a box and he had some great extras too. Frame is powdercoated, 3" extended custom swingarm. Keihin fcr carbs, 18" wire wheels front and back, 3 seats, Yosh exhaust, etc....lots of coos stuff. Anyways, he shows me an extra set of wheels Ive seen in pics but never in person. They look like old drag racer era parts. The wheels are solid, look like they were spun. The front wheel is 19" has dual KZ rotors, looks dished or concave and is maybe 2" wide. The rear is about 4" wide, 18" with a 140 tire on it, and it looks convexed to a kz disc rear. The swingarm is a custom boxed piece, chromed, and has axle ajustments in the 19.5 to 21.5 range, so its overall like 23". I didnt take pics cause it was dark and my cell phone sux but Ill go back and get some soon.

Here are some imagaes I googled but kinda look like it. No they are like fatboy rims either. These are definitely old school by their patina.

Front wheel kinda looks like this

and the rear kinda looks like this

Any help would be appreciated. ;)

Those look like the original Mitchell Performance Machine wheels when they used to buy stampings and fabricate wheels. This is before they started cutting spoke patterns, guessing late 70's to mid 80's. I'll bet you can still buy sprockets and carriers to bolt up to that 6 bolt pattern.

So I finally got the wheels and my friend is letting my "borrow" them to mock up on my bike. Im excited the more I look at them. They make the bike look "chunkier" if that makes any sense...Im kinda diggin it just by standing the parts next to the bike.
The swingarm is boxed steel, chromed, and appears to measure out stock length wise, it has a 140 tire on it but I might be able to fit a 150/160.
I could work out a barter for them so I may just keep them :P
I can honestly say Ive never seen a set like this in person and I think it works cause its period correct in a way.
Let me know your opinions....good or bad ;)

I love em. have seen the rear (or similar) on ebay but I would think the front one is a first. Makes me wish I had the front and a 5.5" rear

those wheels are very unsafe if you ever find yourself caught in a cross wind you can find yourself several lanes over from where you started with no easy way to steer out of it.

Ive thought of that too, trust me. Having no experience riding a bike with solid wheels, I wonder how the HD fatbobs track with their solid wheels.
