I have a 1976 KZ 900. I am going to try to convert the back brakes into disc brakes, and i would like to put a different swing arm on it, What kinds of swing arms will fit on the KZ?

As others have provided, 1981 (I think) Suzuki GS1100 is about the only one I've heard of where minimal mos are required...

From others, maybe a spacer or modified bearing but pretty much a direct fit...

You know it's weird, I don't see where more Honda or Yamaha conversion parts are used.... Interesting...

old man i right.the suzuki gs1100 arm is the most common.that is what i use.they fit with no mods just a small spacer on each side of the pivot shaft.this will keep the dual shock setup and that is what i prefer on a old kz. here is a pic of the z i'm building now with a gs arm.this will also alow you to go to rear disc.these arm come up on ebay all the time and normaly sell for $75-125.

2003/2004 ZX6RR J link mono....
Requires a considerable amount of modification..... Not only for swing arm mounting but for battery/electrical as well....

And before getting even starting, definitely think about offset & rear sprockets, chain path, rim/tire etc... ;)

I believe you can fit a 180 tire in the gs arm. I have a 140 on mine and have plenty of room for a bigger tire. Next year I'm going up to a 170.

The ZR750 and ZR1100 Zephyr swing arms also fit quite nicely, though they are much more rare.

With a wheel that big, do you have to use offset sprockets? I have a 140 on mine and the chain comes pretty close to the tire.
