Why Is The NGK B8ES So Hard To Find?
13 Aug 2025 05:43
Neither of my local dealerships have any in stock.
Three local auto parts stores have no stock and also can't seem to order any.
Sure there might be some on the 'zon or ebay but with the number of counterfiet "China" NGK plugs being sold I'd like to get some from an official place of business.
Any insight?

The reason they are hard to find is because they have been discontinued. There are several threads here about this situation.
ND W24ES or W24ES-U are just as good, and easier to find these days. Just be sure to get the type with the threaded top cap, assuming you are using OEM type plug caps.

13 Aug 2025 08:44You would need to fit "non-resistive" caps for those to workI see. Closest anyone has locally is a BR8ES.

Just swop to denso w24 ES plugs. Much more tolerant and less likely to be fake than ngk.

I found two boxes of B8EVs. Yellow NGK boxes ... old ... they were in a box with the remainder of stuff from my 1980s RD350/400 days.
Verdict?

Spend hours and dollars building an engine then scrimp on fitting the wrong plugs? Really!

I haven't spent any money or time building this engine. As far as I know Kawasaki Japan built the engine.

Are you and I having the same conversation or are you talking to people who aren't there again? Why is always the oddest exchange when you start posting? Like I told you I didn't build the engine.
