Put new one on and now it's working as it sould. A long test ride for me this weekend.
Thanks for the input and advice / help. Cheers
Good job.
What is the DC charging voltage at the battery at 4000rpm?
My 750 is very similar to your 650 but the charging system is 3 phase. The AC voltage from the stator was 75 VAC but the DC charging at the battery was still only 13.7 V until I got a new stator. The R/R was good. After replacing the stator the charging was back to normal at 14.5 VDC at 5000 rpm.

My charge at 4k revs is just over 14 volts.
My next problem is to see why my 1/2 full tank gets empty by just sitting for a week in the garage. No obvious leaks and no smell of petrol fumes when I walk in.
I guess my own fault buying a non runner with no history. Still it puts a smile on to my face most of the time

How is your oil level???
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

My oil level is ok. It does smoke a little when i first start it sometines.
I think there is a fuel leak at / around the accelerator pump.
I took it for a spin and when i got back there was a drip there.
Thanks
