also there is no switch on my clutch just a plug could this have somethin to do with it?

The clutch interlock switch wiring usually runs into the headlight housing, so check for jumpered wires or loose ones too.

Sometimes I have to push hard on the starter button to get anything to happen

sometimes i have to push hard on mine.
Why is that i took it apart and it seems to be working inside fine there is no change in the amps just 3 hot wires and a ground????

It there a wire from the clutch lever? If so trace it down.
If you find a swithc for the clutch safety switch the little prong must be sticking out.
Some times they are removed and the prong taped up and the wires taped to the frame.
This is the first item i remove on a bike. I remove the switch and wire and put a jumper wire in the two connectors.
Follow all the wires on the starter switch.
Trace the wires on your wiring diaghram and touch each component.
You do have a trouble light to check for fire?

i used a voltom and got 3 hot wires and a ground nothin spikes when you hit the button ! if you switch it on and off the tach jumps
