I tried the local hardware places, nothing even close. Here are the specs as best I can measure:

COIL DESCRIPTION

total free length 0.9"

coil diameter 7/32 (.218")

wire diameter = .038"

eight coils total, hook ends

material? some kind of hardened steel, VERY stiff

I located some similar coils online at coil companies that don't sell to the public.

bountyhunter, measure the springs and post it up. Someone must have some spare. I'd let you have a couple but Im in England. But if all fails...just say.

Thanks, I think I will be able to jury rig something up. The ones I have are functional, but definitely screw up the timing. It's either off about ten degrees at idle or at high RPM, or a combination of both. If I set it fast I get good performance and response, but it's cranky to start and sometimes kicks back a little. If I set it back, it is easy to start but it's a little sluggish.
