the shop said that they are a kawasaki dealer and there was never a manual made for my bike, that seems like bullshit, a manual would be extremely helpful right now i think. Its a 83 KZ 1100 LTD.

How much oil did you put in? And did you change the oil filter? You might want to get the manual first before you start and run that bike. Posting some pictures would help. If the starter is not engaging then it most likely something simple. What did the shop charge?...Russ
Oil cooler huh, that pisses me off, i just drained all the oil and put new oil in. The headlight does not dim, there is no clicking, and the motor is not turning over. What the hell have i gotten myself into lol. I dont have the name of the shop off hand, but ill post it on here later. The whole wiring harness seems to be intact so i dont know whats going on, and the shop said that they are a kawasaki dealer and there was never a manual made for my bike, that seems like bullshit, a manual would be extremely helpful right now i think. Two places for a manual are
www.repairmanual.com
and
www.onlinefreebooks.net
The first one might be a few $ but has all the shop specs and adjustments in it along with colored wiring diagrams.

It turned over!!!! You guys are awesome. The clutch was my issue, i thought i had tried it earlier, but i guess not. I didnt put to much oil in, thats why i havent turned it over again, dont wanna hurt anything, how full do i fill the oil, will there always be oil in the oil cooler lines? i dont even know where the oil filter is. The date on my bike says 11/82 so that means its an 83 right? I do need a manual,so i will check those places out, thanks.
Dont have a camera to take pictures but i do need one!!
My plan with the bike is to get it running and rolling, then take it all apart and paint it and customize it, was hoping to put a diff. tank on the bike but with the three bars, it seems like i would have to chop the tank up to make it work. Also get shorter shocks and drag bars and forward controls i think. Also do straight pipes for exhaust. Thanks for all the help so far, im sure i will need so much more.

The oil pump/pressure will keep oil moving to the oil cooler (providing you have properly filled the crankcase:) ) I strongly encourage you to purchase a manual...a Kawasaki manual, if you have a choice. Look on the tripletree headstock for the frame VIN (between the tank and the front forks) and post the first 10 or so digits as that will tell the cognoscenti what type of bike you actually have.
