Hi Mark, and welcome to KZR.
Try this to at least eliminate one item, namely starting/running voltage. Pull wires off spark plugs, then have a friend turn engine over with starter, (not kick starter) while you hold your V-meter on the battery posts. Have the lights on as well if you want to tax the start circuit even more. This will test your cranking voltage. You will find it a good bit lower than what you measure with bike just sitting there. Even if the charge system were bad, the odds are that with sufficient cranking voltage, the engine would run fine for testing purposes.
If you know the battery and charge system are good, then disregard.

kill switch wires can come loose inside the switch. Bad battery ground to frame is weak spark also.
