I have a 1000 with 10.5-1 compression. I just got rid of the original 28's and put on 34's. Dyna ignition, accel coils. The bike revs up quick and crisp but it seems to take too long to go back to idle. It is not like it is stuck or getting too much gas or anything cause the rpm's go back down evenly and are not erratic at all. It is not the throttle cause I slam the throttle shut and it doesn't change anything. It did the same thing with the 26's. I was just wanting the rpm's to be as crisp coming down as they are going up. Basically like a race car or a newer crotch rocket. Rev it up and as soon as you let off the throttle it goes back to idle. Is there anything I can do or is it just another quirk of having a 26 year old bike? I am guessing a heavier crank would help but then it would not rev up as fast. Ideas?
Harley Davidson- Turning gas into noise without the harmful affects of horsepower for over 100 years.
