Vaccume line connecting carb boots?

My 750 twin has a vaccume port (nipple) on each carb holder, some time ago I replaced this hose, today just to see I clamped the hose and the bike wanted to die. I searched the forum and found conflicting results, should I have a plug on each nipple? Isn't the hose connecting the two doing the same? But read on some post Swest wrote that on a twin they should be plugged not connected to.. I think? The hose is not leaking but I still am having the low idle issue and literally checked out everything else, partzilla shows a tube connecting the two like I have, just wounder of that hose could make it run goofy.

Have you tried to raise the idle?

I'm thinking my KZ750 B had a black hose connecting the two boots.
It doesn't sound logical but if it died being clamped... I'd be wondering if it has always been running on one carb at idle and way WAY too rich at that.
No wait, maybe way too lean....

I read somewhere that the carb holder connecting tube is necessary on the 750 Twins.
In the diagrams it's listed as a Balancer Tube.

The 82-84 750T models have the Kawasaki clean air system, and I think if you remove the system, a balancer tube should be installed.

I only bench sync them, I read though that will only get you in the ball park they where off a fair amount! I was going to make my own rig to balance them, I watched a couple YouTube vids, looks easy to make, I believe however I will need an adapter to hook to carb to balance them? I'll refer to my copy of the manual, should be easy.

I stand corrected on the balance tube. :pinch: Those are VM carbs. They are tough enough to tune not to mention the intake system on it. It occurred to me if one diagram is bad it will run lean if at all on one cylinder. I suggest the thumb test to determine if the one carb is working at all.
Oh, greetings from Grant's Pass Oregon.
