Dynojet 2134 stage 1 kit
24 Jan 2014 21:15
No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI am exploring the idea of a Dynojet upgrade to my BS34 carburetors, and would like a few suggestions, considering my unusual application.
The 82 KZ1100A-2 has the original BS34 carburetors, and stock air box with a K&N replacement air filter. As it sits, the pilot jets are 37.5, and main jets 122.5 I upped to 122.5 (from 120) on recommendation that adding a header would necessitate increasing fuel flow by a minimum of one size increment of the main jet.
I installed a 13009-J Vance & Hines chrome street header (specifically designed for a 1982 KZ1000-J model). It fit with a couple minor modifications, and I can still use the center-stand, and change the oil/filter with ease.
Now for the carburetors...I want a Stage 1 Dynojet kit for my application.
But there is no Stage 1 kit available for the KZ1100's...there is a Stage 3 (2310) for the Spectre and LTD versions, but not the KZ1100A, The Stage 3 kit is designed for use only with pod filters, not with the stock air box. I don't want that
I just want a Stage 1 kit. Again..."Sorry, but that absolutely won't work..."
So here am I again. Will the Stage 1 kit specifically designed for a 1982 KZ1000J (2134) possibly work on my KZ1100? I have an extra set of slide diaphragms to modify per kit instructions, so no issue there.

I would check with factory pro on a jet kit much better than a Dynojet if you do not see listing give them a call they have great customer support.

Thanks!
The Dynojet specialist told me that the 2310 Stage 3 kit wouldn't work on my bike with the stock air box, which I do not want to change in any way. :side:
Any opinions on Sigma Jet kits as an alternative to Dynojet?

I'm not convinced you need to change anything, You definitely wouldn't need the stage 3 kit with the stock airbox. In fact, I'm not convinced the stage 1 kit is really required. It sounds like you've already gone up one size on the jets for a replacement exhaust, so (if it was me) I'd let this sleeping dog lie.
