wet plugs, complicated.

I just put my engine back in my 82' kz750 ltd h3. I took the baffles out of the exhaust and it currently have just open carbs, no filters orbox. I started it to see if it ran ok after the re-build and it idles fine and runs quiet. My problem lies in the fact it seems its getting to much fuel. The plugs are soaked and it bogs down when you try to rev it. I know you have to re jet the carbs when you do an exhaust and filters. But mine seems to be the opposite. Is this even possible?

Cheers

There is absolutely no way that you can do anything with your engine in your condition. It is virtually impossible to get the jetting correct with no filters and no baffles.
Sorry, but you at least need to put K&N pods on the carbs. Then recheck and you will have some sort of a starting point.
Best of luck.

MikeXS.net sells a knock off version the K&N's that I would have purchased before my z1 pods had I known. Try those out.

It is actually mikesxs.net . You forgot the "s". Just to let you know.
I checked them out, they look pretty good, especially for that price.
You'll want to oil them with filter oil, be sure and pick that up also. Just don't over oil them, a common mistake with K&N users.

Thanks for the replys. I know I need pods before the tuning. I was curious as to what causes my condition. I'm taking it to a shop nearme that I absolutly trust 100%. They are gonna put it on the dyno with the pipe sniffer that reads air/fuel burn.
I ordered carb holders already so all my seals are tight with no vacuum leaks.
