I see lot´s of street 650 Kz´s in japanese forums with keihin cr29. I´m thinking on putting one on my bike for 50% street use, 40% mountain roads fast riding and 10% track days use. But will my bike idle at 4000rpm? in this case i doubt it will be streetable.
Anybody have experiences with this carbs for street use?
Kz650 Dyna-S, dyna coils and 4-1 exhaust
Thank´s

I can't speak to them personally on a 650, but I would guess you would lose some low end responsiveness, that's about it. The 650's run a little more compression than the 900/1000, if I recall correctly, so this may not be much of an issue depending on your riding style.

That said, you'll probably want to have the head opened up by someone like Larry Cavanaugh as the head will flow less than the carbs are capable of. Then you'll probably want to get some higher lift cams to take advantage of the extra flow. And then you'll probably want a larger bore/higher compression piston setup like the Wiseco 810cc kit. So basically, open the checkbook and start scribbling...it'll be fun. :woohoo:

Thank you for your suggestions, i´ll try to find the best place and the best offer: Sudco, Dynoman, Motorcyclecarbs ...
Mark1122: i don´t find Kz1000 Cr29 cheaper than the other. And isn´t big for a Kz650 with stock engine?

sorry, bad joke.
what i was triing to say was that buying a kz1000 would be cheaper than doing up a kz650 and would have more power.
math would tell u that 29mm carbs r too big for a 650cc motor, but guys do it and come away with a smile.
there r guys hear running rs34'd on kz810's and report good results. i run them on my 1200cc kz.
1 thing about buying used aftermarket carbs, is that u will never loose money if u sell them later. :) its hard to find them though. :(

generaly speeking, carbs r like cams. if u increase the size of the carb/cam , u gain top end and loose bottom end.
so keep that in mind. if u like ripping back roads and drag raceing, bigger is better. if u like doing wheelies smaller is better.
