1978 KZ 650 C2 carb fuel leak

I am not able to stop fuel leak at T junction between Carb 2 & 3, also the two other connectors are "wet" on the outside with fuel, not dripping. I have dissassembled each carb from the carb rack to remove the "T" fitting between 2 & 3, also the connectors between 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 and cleaned the orifices inside carefully of all debris and cleaned the rubber coated inserts, reassembled and I'm still getting bad leakeage. The type of connectors on this 1978 Mikuni VM24 are a rubber coated version. Is there a way to rejuevenate the rubber, that is to get it to expand back to shape? Will boiling them in water help? How about leaving them in an oil bath for some time, possibly hot oil? Is there a clever way to replace them with something available? They are a friction fit, no O rings, as I've seen on some, like the '77 650 B1 model has them with O rings. but not on this set.
1977 KZ 650 B1, I own two of them. Working on one custom rebuild, one daily rider. Used to have a third. Two 1978 KZ 650 C2 models, sold both. KZ owner since 1987.

Another reasonably durable solution is to wrap the raised rubber ridges with Teflon tape.

White Teflon tape is okay, but the yellow Teflon tape is supposedly even more fuel proof.

The best solution is replacement parts as already suggested by gd4now. :cheer:

Good Fortune! :)
