KZ1000 ST E1 airfilter foam seal replacement. Has anyone used home seal with the adhesive backing to replace the seal?

My air filter looks like it might have come straight from the factory... in 1980. So I'm just going to get one of these: www.oldbikebarn.com/Kawasaki-KZ1000-Z1-A...sc=12&category=74743
When in doubt, get a new one!

Unless it was a washable/reusable type I wouldn't bother, but if you must then any foam tape like that will do in a pinch.
