carb problem, i think.
03 Jul 2011 00:23
I have a 1980 kz550 and the fuel is not leaving the bottom of the carbs to the engine. the carb has been reubilt, and the floats do not stick. I know it turns over and fires with carb cleaner, and I know the fuel gets down to the bowl. Can anyone help?

The fuel level must be checked and made to be very accurate to spec.
Make sure that your mixture/air screws are not turned in all the way by accident.
Increase the main idle screw.

Your carbs aren't as clean as you think
Completely disassemble them and clean every passage - better yet, dunk them in cleaner bucket, like Berrymans
