gonna reinstall factory air box on 82 j model

just a quick qustion what will i do with the 2 open holes on air box after smog stuff was taken off
hello, i own a 1982 kz1000 j model with a 4into1 header and factory air box...

If they were to the smog stuff then just plug them. You can get rubber bungs at most hardware stores. Do not plug your crankcase breather. It should go to the airbox.

Good call on reinstalling the airbox too. Get some nice new boots and you will have no worries or headaches. Plus more riding time than fiddling time too.

you got that right i am done with pod filters on these cv carbs have never been happy with them..i ordered a new set of intake boots from z1 i kept my air box

GOOD CALL !! Wish we could get the other thousands of members to put there airbox back on it would save us a ton of time typing "we told you so" replies ! Just richen the OEM jetting a tad and ride worry free weather it's 45F or 80F !
Went from a miserable temperature tempermental podded GSXR to a bone stock, richer jetted airboxed GSXR and OMG what a difference in street drivability !

o yeah its been nothing but a headache...i like the actual design of the factory air box dont care how it looks... im just tired of not having the low end throttle response i know this bike could have!!!! i want it to be more snappy than it is and reading on here thats my only alternative!! im not gonna ride it at 8,000 rpm and the pods only seem to work well at higher rpm range
