The cases do not crack, unless over-torqued or not properly seated when torqued down.
The fuel that is overflowing is from the float valve in the carb not seating properly. Sometimes just a good wack to the side of the carbs will make it seat and stop the flow. If not, then they will need to be removed and cleaned/replaced, or just polish the seat up like new. Not a very big job.
Make sure to use an inline filter, and that your petcock does indeed stop the flow of gas properly.

I have a newer fuel injected bike, that I "ride"
The other are for fun and constant tinkering.
Don't give up... sound like a stuck float bowl that could possibly be fixed with a few taps to the bowl hoping to dislodge it.
The fuel now-a-day seems to evaporate quicker (probably due to more alcohol content) and gum things up quicker along the way. Had a great running bike and 2 months of sitting... now has it running on 3 cylinders. one of the carbs is now cloged
and I wanted to throw it down the road. But... I'll keep it

Did you install a fuel filter after cleaning the tank? If tapping the carb doesn't stop the leak just drop the bowl on that carb (you don't need to remove the carb) and clean the float valve orifice and needle with a Q-tip and carb cleaner. Don't use anything abrasive. Ed

I take the needles and brass seats out at least once a year. I carefully chuck the brass seats in a hand drill and polish the inside with a q-tip and chrom polish. get the area that the needle mates with smooth and shiny.
I also chuck the needles in the drill and polish the pointed end with #600 paper/oil until they are dead smooth. Do that and the carbs will not leak or overflow. You also need to set the fuel levels with a clear tube.

thanks guys, I know what is happening, about a month ago, i cleaned the carbs, and the float on th left carb seemed kinda heavy, turns out it is a sink, not a float, pinhole leak that I thought could compensate for by adjusting the float height, turns out I only made it worse, got the bike running again today, as it idled I tapped on the float bowl with the but of a screwdriver, didn't work, so my Sunday shall start with dropping the float out and doing a little soldering, this should fix the problem, what do ya'll think? I installed 2 new fuel filters, and as far as the crack, it is actually at the other end of my foot, right above the shift lever, is this gonna hurt anything?

Picture of the crack will speak volumes.
As far as the float, it can't have any leak in the float construction. If it it brass then it can be soldered. If it is the black sort of plastic looking then I've seen some work with JB weld sealing a small hole/ crack. There is actually a weight for the float, to much additional material would make it to heavy. Only add a small amount to do the repair. Then reset the Fuel level, using the Clear tube method. Member Patton has a great Tutorial on it. That way if there is any weight difference between floats, the fuel levels will be correct once set.
