was looking at this on Z1enterprises

If i cap off the vacuum line coming from the carb that goes into the stock petcock, can i just plug my main fuel line onto this petcock and run it like that? Im thinking without the vacuum it wont put out enough fuel for the bike to run on. i dont need reserve, i would be happy with just on/off.

I have a 1981 GS1100 that is on 'prime' and has an inline on/off gas flow valve switch installed in the gas feed between the stock petcock and the carbs and it works fine. The vacuum hose that previously pulled on the petcock's diaphragm is capped off. This simple setup just makes me certain I can 100% shut off gas flow to the carbs when it's parked.

The vacuum line doesn't affect fuel flow one its vacuum pulls open the diaphragm. I think what you plan should work, as it appears the Z1 petcock is not a diaphragm petcock, just on/off.

Yes, may just connect main fuel line onto the new manual operated petcock and run it like that, provided the then unused carb vacuum nipple is capped off.

Fuel from the tank gravity-feeds into the carbs, regardless of whether the petcock is manual or vacuum operated.

As noted by newOld_kz1000, The vacuum line doesn't affect fuel flow one its vacuum pulls open the diaphragm.

Consider, vacuum petcock set in PRI (prime) position isn't depending on any vacuum to allow fuel flow.

Good Fortune! :)

SWEET!!! im might buy this petcock then. Im still not sure if i fixed mine yet, gotta get some new clear fuel line and a filter and dump some gas in to find out. I think the O-ring might have just been bad on my stock fuel valve.. We shall see.
