Accel pumps??

Hmmm i figured all kzs would have accel pumps after 79.
Why did they abandon them?The 79 i rode had great accel.:ohmy:

I'd say EPA, to meet emission standards the CV carbs showed up.

What do they do?

I think the bike I just picked up has them and its a 79 KZ1000 shaft drive.

New bikes don't have to pass emissions, so why would they have to 30 years ago when no one cared about the environment? lol
