Re-Racking RS34's, anybody done it ?

I have a set of RS34's that are spaced for a ZX600/FJ600, I'd like to use them on a 1000 (989cc) motor.

I'm under the impression that I can re-space them, I know that I'll need some parts to do it, but is it a big deal?

Are the parts avail?

Anybody have personal experience at this?

Cost?

.......and the last question (the controversial one), are the rs34 a good carb for street use on a stock 1000 with a Kerker?
