late model 29mm smoothbores

can anyone tell me the difference between early and late model 29mm smoothbores .jetting advice specified 20 pilot or 25 pilot for late model .How can I tell which model I have?

Toad, what that is referring to is just the pilot jet size. I'm not sure if there is any difference in the actual carburetor body in later versions. I only have one set myself. The pilot jets can be swapped out to suit your setup. Are you trying to determine what pilot jets should be in the carbs as stock or are you just trying to jet for your particular bike? Personally, #25 pilot jets seem awfully large for a regular KZ1000 motor. I live at sea level in Houston, and I need either a #15 or #17.5 for my setup to run right. Verified AFR with wideband O2 sensor for accuracy. I am running the #15s right now, but could probably use the #17.5s during winter when it's cooler.
