Franken Carbs

Got these carbs of a Ninja (not an actual Ninja) ebay Kawi Ninja ZX-7 750. Can't put an airbox on my bike b/c well, that will just look dumb so I'm going to franken them up so the pods from the carbs that are on my bike now will will fit.
The plan is:
1. cut street sign w/jigsaw to cover air side of each carb
2. cut circle in the middle of each piece, enough to insert some pvc pipe
3. glue the pvc onto the cutout street sign
4. screw street sign pieces onto carbs
5. fasten pods over other end of pvc

sooooo, think this will work? muuuhaaahaaaaa

The Ninja carbs have no place for the vacuum hose, I think I can just plug it or get a new petcock ???

what? I think I hear someone laughing . . . . :) This is not a joke, I may post progress pics

You have a plan for the inlet of the carbs, but what about the outlet of the carbs? The spacing is wrong for an aircooled 750 and the fuel bowls are meant to be level which when mounted on your engine, they won't be.

No offense, but I think you need to look at the bigger picture and not just one aspect.

Thats the pain I feel with my 80 750-4. I got the Keihin CV 34's with the seemingly priceless diaphragms. Junk yards wanted $75 a diaphragm, and that was for a 30 year old one! I got lucky and found a part set on CL for $25!!!

I think I might just cash my 401k out and invest in 50% gold and 50% cv 34 diaphragms...they never seem to depreciate.

Just keep in mind that 650/700/750/900/1000/1100 KZ motors all have the same carb spacing.

Gives you a good size pool to select from.

Hey Steell, so if my investment in cv 34 diaphragms tanks, I could get a set of carbs off a 650, 700, 900, 1000 or 1100 and make them work on my stock 750? I'm guessing the jetting and manifolds would be interesting...
