Alternative to 29 smoothies

What's good alternatives to the popular 29mm smoothbores? They're a little pricey. But in the end if I poor money into another set of mixers and don't get good results I'll have to fork out the cash anyway maybe.. Options, Opinions?

This is all just speculation on future parts and whatnot. Well on the way to making our 650 an 810. Got 750 sleeves, and a GOOD 750 head (and a bare spare one.lol) Looking to make this little bike fun from the stoplights. Any other comments on heads, cams, and sprockets are welcome too.
