kz440 carb/idle issues

I'll try to explain as succinctly as possible, any help or ideas is greatly appreciated.

When you first take off on the bike, when you pull in the clutch in and stop, it takes about 45 seconds for the idle to come down to normal, then after you ride for a few more minutes, when you pull in the clutch to stop, the bike dies. It runs like a scalded dog when your riding but once you stop going and it dies, getting it started again is troublesome.

Also notable is that with the vacuum lines hooked up it idles really high, and nothing i do to the idle screws makes a difference, that is, until you remove them completely, then it idles where it should.

Again, any ideas are appreciated:(

diaphrams in carbs?
normally disconecting vacuam lines should cause vacuam leak putting idle through the roof
