I'm confused. How can this be? Everything I have seen on the 29mm smoothbores shows only a single fuel feed, including the exploded view in the books. What do 29mm smoothbores look like? The pics at Z1 also show a single fuel feed. Not trying to be a dick, just confused and would like clarification. Thanks. Julio

My mistake on the single versus dual fuel feeds. I had a set of VM28's sitting on my desk...

The float bowls for the VM29's DO NOT interchange with the VM26 or VM28 carbs.
are you sure about that jeff? i believe wg still owes me a steak over that bet. :woohoo:

Toad, My experiance w/29 smoothies is limited having only delt w/3 or 4 sets.however, to my knowledge the original bowls had a 17mm headed drain & no provision for an overflow tube, THUS, if there was ever a float valve prob, raw gas wound up 1st in the air filter, & then intake tract (see crankcase) Look at your present bowls... if the spigot on the outside links to a brass tube which extends to about the seam of bowl to body, & seals, KEEP THEM ! regardless of what they came off, the merits of an overflow precaution far outweigh the ability to swap main jets on the fly... Dont plug spigots, run drain tubes.. Just my 2 cents G

that makes sense and yes they do have that brass tube.I have spotted a little gas come out of the spigots before, anyway I have nnot seen before other smoothbores with the same float bowls.
