I think that everyone is going to get a kick out of it and finally solved the mystery. I got down to business today and tore those carbs down. I laugh as I type this... One of the carbs was missing the check valve, weight, and retainer from the accelerator pump, AAHHHHHH, their solution was to BLOCK the fuel line from the accelerator pump to that carb by plugging the line. Jeez these backyard yahoos~! instead of spending 10.00 on parts they decided to cripple the acceleration system of the bike(not to mention that is not a very easy thing to figure out!)

Wanted to say thanks for all the comments and help(especially the link to the repair manual and parts book.) Both now reside on my phone :) I finally feel like i'm on my way and maybe, just maybe, it'll run tomorrow...fingers crossed.

I think it uses electronic injection. that's what the "could be" plug next to it is...I don't think you can just "disable it." well, i guess you could, if you never want to crank the throttle open. In any case, got a hair up my ass tonight and got her running, now for the fun stuff... :):woohoo:

hmm... these motorbikes are a different animal... I mean, I guess it's because it's the carb sinc but the fact that it barely, barely ran. I see why taking that off is a bad idea. and what I'm talking about is next to the accelerator pump, there is a cast in same bowl for something else? If you look at the accelerator pump rebuild kits they always come with that triangular piece too, but I didn't find that anywhere on my motor.

It does have a center stand, but I have no idea what a frame grip is? What kind of crash bar is that? Mine came with this monstrosity of one, looks like it might have come on the CSR's. After I removed it, I'm not sure if I like it better with or without... It kind of makes the bike look a little bigger, plus it obviously protects the motor in a crash. It's rusty as hell anyways so it would have had to have been taken off either way.

What does the 750 exhaust do for you? My Pipes actually say SANKEI ..something... 650/750? I assumed they were the same.

Oh you're talking about the grab bar on the back. Yeah I need one for sure...but what does that have to do with the center stand? don't you sit on your bike and rock it back on to the center stand? works for me...

I guess I have seen someone do it that way but, not really too funny. left foot on the stand, front brake on, swing your weight back let go of the hand brake and push down with your foot...I mean, it could look funny... Either way, I bet you're going to try it next time! :D I am about 6'3" and 225, maybe that gives me an advantage.

so what about that crash bar? is that off something else or custom?
