My carb to engine connector is Split. Any Ideas

Yes my 1979 KZ400 H1 with a newer 440 engine was running around 900 rpms and now its around 1250 at an idol. I found a Split on the left carb connector to the engine. When I lift up on the carb while running the idol speed drops back down, so I know its leaking. Where does a fellow get new Ones? Factory braces would of kept this from happening? Thanks for your help

Are you running pods or an airbox? An airbox should support the carbs. Running pods without supporting the carbs will do that. Also if someone changed the carbs they may not be the correct sleeves to the engine. I'm not sure where to get new connectors but I would make sure the size is correct. Someone will have that info. Nice bike.
Take it from me cuz I found
If you leave it then somebody else is bound,
To find that treasure, that moment of pleasure,
When yours, it could have been.

No everything is stock, air box and air box rubber connectors as well. So the carbs are supported by all the factory parts. Just seems a dumb way to have made it. Should have had a support(solid)near the inlet between air box and carbs. But what do I know

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationkawasaki.com says carb holder part # 16065-1002 for 1979 KZ400 LTD
and part # 16065-1027 for 1980 KZ440 LTD
are still "active."

Also seeing this on ebay:

Z1E can often supply parts not listed on their website.

If not already done, would contact Z1E and inquire about availability of these particular carb holders.

Thanks, I was checking around and found those on Kawi site. the 16065 1027s. I emailed Z1 for parts. And I didn't find any on ebay earlier. But thanks. I'll check those out. For now some black rv silicon goop is working.

Silicone goop will not work for long because gasoline dissolves it. If you want to order them from Kawi, try the prices at both Bike Bandit and babbittsonline.com because they give about a 20 - 30% discount off list price for parts from kawi. The new ones on ebay might be cheaper, but check anyway. Sometimes ebay items are priced way over list.
