Dented float bowl?

I was washing my old gal the other day and noticed the #4 carb float bowl seemed to be dented in. I've put almost 15,000 miles on it in 9 months, so it's not keeping the engine from running properly (it gets HORRIBLE gas mileage, but I doubt this is the problem).

I'll be popping my carb cherry in the next month or two and rejetting in hopes of getting the mileage back up to where it should be and was wondering if a dented float bowl would adversely affect the fine tuning.

Thanks!

If it has tits or tires, it'll give you problems!

Maybe someone might have a spare float bowl for a VM26 lying around they'd like to part with???

Can you post a pic? That sounds odd. I had no idea that cast cheapometal would dent rather than crack and break.

+1 If its a mini-dent, I wouldnt give at any real thought.
Then again, I'm sure someone has one for you. When in doubt, replace.

you mileage is horrible because you use large amounts of throttle all the time, or your mixture screws and pilot circuit is poorly tuned, and/or vacuum balance is bad.

Peace.

 Right... so grabbing lots of throttle then.

I wouldnt be too concerned aout that little guy. It might make a miniscule difference, but i'm sure theres lots of other little things going on that mask that anyways.
