Non-vacuum petcock, how will it work with the 750?

I am looking to go with a different tank on my 750. Some that I have looked at don't have the vacuum petcock assembly. Will the carbs run ok without that vacuum set up? Would I pinch off the vacuum line or let it hang open?

I assume that with a non-vacuum setup it uses a vented cap. I guess the biggest issue with that is to remember to turn it off at every stop?

Maybe I have it all wrong. Somebody school me on this.

Most auto parts stores have a selection of vacuum caps to close off hose ends. I'd think putting one on the line from the vacuum source would not affect the carb operation.

Yes, you'll have to shut off the gas when the engine is not running(this is what the older riders did before the vacuum petcocks were invented).

Cap (plug) the vacuum nipple that's no longer needed for the manual petcock.

No vacuum nipple should be open while the engine's running.
