Pilot Screw (oem #16014-018)

Hey folks. Got some parts in the mail and I'm finally putting my carbs back together after a thorough cleaning. I have the VM24ss carbs and I noticed that the pilot screw on carb 3 is slightly, and I mean slightly deformed. It looks like it may have been seated a little too tightly. It's not too bad but it does sit a little deeper then the other screws. Do you think i should still be ok? Im guessing it should still function to lean out or enrich fuel but I might have to watch it.

Also, does anyone know where i can order just the pilot screw if i need to? (16014-018) I know its available in a kit through Z1 but i only need the screw, I already have new gaskets and o-rings.

Question please --- about slightly deformed. Does this mean bent, or grooved, or something else?

If grooved, perhaps it could be polished out somewhat (akin to sharpening a pencil). So long as the point interfaces sufficiently with the air inlet orifice, would think it should function okay. Perhaps be screwed in slightly more than an undamaged screw.

If turning the pilot adjustment screw effects rpm, the screw could be functioning okay.

Might be separately available at www.sudco.com .

Good Fortune! :)

No not bent, but not a hard groove either. I wish I had my camera working. Kind of like a fat man wearing a tight belt ;) but not that noticeable. You have to look real hard to see it. I just noticed because it sat a little deeper then the other 3 screws.

Thanks for the tip on the website. I'll look for a replacement screw there, just in case this one is messed up.
