CV Carb question

Your motor would have to be crazy way out of sync to affect midrange performance, but a good vacuum sync is a requirement in my book too.

Does the bike have pod filters, or a different than stock exhaust?

Shim/raise the needles one notch, or with a washer ( .5mm ) and try again. Make sure you have tuned the Main Jets correctly, as they may still be too lean for max power. You should get a slightly sooty exhaust at WOT. DONT LOOK BACK! :laugh: Have a friend watch you.

Keihin diaphragms do not have the silk reinforcement, so they will swell if there is any alcohol in the gas you use. This is a common problem with these carbs today. The Mikuni diaphragms have a silk cloth reinforcement inside the rubber and they do not stretch/swell like that.

Less you spray'em with carb cleaner! Then they turn into mini fancy cowboy hats! :laugh:

This is true I have a photo essay to prove it. And it has made a difference for sure. It runs with in a jet and one needle position.
