Part cannot be found - Carb Grommet VM26
17 Jan 2011 10:44 - 19 Jan 2011 14:17
Hi.
I am in the process of cleaning up the carbs and noticed that my two "fuel pipe fittings" that are shaped like a T and the input for fuel between 1-2 & 3-4 are both cracked. I have replacements on the way.
My question is....I was reading the clymer manual which suggests that all repairs can be made without removing carbs from the mounting plate. I have also read on here that its advised to not do so. I dont really want to get in over my head by taking them apart but If needed I will do so to get these fittings in.
Hows about some feedback?

These are the areas where the rubbers are damaged. I am assuming these cannot be swapped out without taking this things apart.
Any words of caution?
Assembly looks pretty straight forward.

I have the carburetors completely disassembled which works out well as I was able to thoroughly clean them and inspect them. Now they look amazing and I feel very certain that this will make the throttle action and adjustment much more smooth. I havent gotten them assembled yet as I am now waiting on the rubber boots but I havent seen any reason for this disassembling to be intimidating.
1 problem: the upper carb grommets (pn 92071-102) are obsolete and nearly impossible to find. I talked to the guys at Z1E, Kawi parts nation, and speedsupplies, and they all have no idea where I can find this part and have all suggested that it is a discontinued piece.
