Can anyone identify this vacuum tube.

Hi,
I have one of these tubes (RED) on the #2 and the #4 Mikuni carburettors of my 1979 KZ650SR. Clearly the front tube (GREEN) is for the petcock vacuum. What is the other for? and why on the #4 carb too? (FYI, California model)

The red arrow tube and the same one on number 4 are the vent's for the carbs. Just hook up some tubing to them and run them up around the airbox opening. Do not plug them.

I have never heard of vents for carbs. What do they vent? Vapor?

Fancy way of saying float bowl vent. Makes sense that it needs to be at atmospheric pressure though.
