redline with choke on / motor dies when choke off

I have an 81 kz1000k, i got from a guy who said yeah it ran when i parked it, I rebuilt the carbs and put pods on since i destroyed the air box taking it off, I have rejetted it using the Dynajet kit, i have also replaced the intake boots with new ones from dennis kirk. when i start the bike it will redline with the choke on but dies if i even push in the choke at all

do search here in the above right search window...it sounds like your "idle circuits are clogged"...you changed a bunch of stuff so it could be something else but i would start by searching out "clogged idle circuits"
